What We Believe
The Bible The Old and New Testaments are the inspired, infallible, and authoritative Word of God. The New Testament now provides redemption and better promises through the blood of Jesus Christ. In the Word of God we find the revelation of God’s will for man. The Word is the final authority for the Christian life.
The Trinity There is one God, the creator of all things, who is perfect and eternally existent in three persons; the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit.
Jesus Christ is the Son of God. He is true God and true man, conceived of the Holy Spirit and born of the virgin Mary. He lived a sinless life and died on the cross as the sacrifice for our sins. He arose bodily from the dead, ascended into heaven and is presently seated at the right hand of the Father as our high priest and advocate.
Salvation Man was created in the image of God, but fell into sin, resulting in his spiritual death, which is separation from God. The sacrifice of Jesus Christ on the cross made a way for salvation and reconciliation to God. It takes place through a combination of God's grace (gift) and our confession of faith. You confess with your mouth and believe in your heart that Jesus is the Son of God and ask for forgiveness of your sins and make Him your Lord and Savior. As a person believes in Jesus, he is forgiven and becomes a Born-Again Christian!
Water baptism and communion are ordinances to be observed by the church today. They are not, however, to be confused with or regarded as a means of salvation. The shed blood of Jesus Christ and His resurrection provide the only grounds for justification and salvation. These ordinances are however, an outward expression of an inward revelation of what Jesus is doing in their life.
Baptism of the Holy Spirit The present day ministry of the Holy Spirit is to comfort and guide the believer, with the purpose of glorifying the Lord Jesus Christ in the earth. During this age, He indwells, guides, instructs, and empowers the believer with gifts and the fruit of the Spirit for Godly living and service.
Prayer Every born again believer should maintain a consistent prayer life by praying regularly and growing in their relationship with God. We believe prayer changes things.
Faith & Victory The Word tells us that the “just (those who have been justified by the blood of Jesus) shall live by faith.” (Romans 1:17) The redemptive work of Jesus not only provided salvation for the believer by faith, but also victory for every area of your life. We are redeemed from the curse of the law i.e. sickness, poverty, oppression, and any other thing that prevents us from fulfilling God's plan for our lives. Redemption has blessed us in every way as we walk by faith in God’s Word.
The Church Through the new birth, we are united together in the body of Christ. Jesus Christ is the Lord and head of the church, and has provided leadership for the local church through the ministry gifts (Eph. 4:11,12), which only He can give. Every local church has the right, under Christ, to decide and govern its own affairs. GFC has a Board of Directors and is nondenominational.
The Return of Christ The trumpet will sound and Jesus will come back for His saints and meet them in the air bringing them to Heaven (The Rapture, catching away) to celebrate the Marriage Supper/Covenant of the Lamb, before the Great Tribulation that comes on the earth. After that event, Jesus will return with His saints to earth to rule and reign for a 1000 years (The Millennium).
